About Hatsu Matcha
Hatsu is for the daily moment, when matcha stops being an occasion and starts being a habit.
You've already dialled in your ratios and know what you like. What you're looking for now is the matcha you'll actually make every day.
The truth is nobody can tell you whether that's a roasty-mellow cup or a sweet-mellow one. You have to taste both, side by side, on your own.
How the Taste Test Works
Drink your way through the two Hatsu matcha, then tell us which one won you over. Your next purchase should be the one you already know you love.
The Offer
Two 40g bags of shade-grown matcha from Japan's Kyoto region, crafted to be just as enjoyable as an usucha or as a latte. To help you explore more of Naoki Matcha Japan's lineup, we've also included a pack of Roku matcha (40g).
Complete our post-purchase survey after your taste test and, as a thank-you, you'll receive a US$15 voucher (in your local currency) for your next order.

How to best enjoy Hatsu matcha
Authentic Kyoto Matcha
Both teas begin as leaves grown in the Kyoto region, shaded for around thirty days before harvest so the leaf slows down and sweetens.
They're milled using a newer technique built on the same principle as traditional granite stone-milling: slow and cool, so the leaf never scorches and the aroma stays intact.
